About the Event
Discover the rich and varied history on this exclusive guided walk, exploring areas of the reserve that are usually closed to the public.
Our expert guides, with their enthusiasm and storytelling, will bring Arne’s past to life as you journey through this remarkable landscape.
Steeped in history, this rare and beautiful heathland has been shaped over thousands of years by both human activity and natural forces.
During the walk, we will trace Arne’s story from a Neolithic farming community to Roman salt gatherers, explore the evolving importance of clay in the area’s development, and uncover the crucial role the peninsula played during the Second World War.
Join us for a morning of time travelling, as our guides help you connect with Arne’s unique past.
Please note: This guided walk is quite long and will take approximately 2 hours to complete. The route includes a steep incline at the start of the walk, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. There are also areas of uneven ground which would not be suitable for our mobility trampers.
Binocular hire is available from our shop before the walk.
