About the Event
Don’t miss our mini festival, celebrating all things bird! We have a fantastic weekend of bird-themed guided-walks, talks, local producer stalls, cider & vodka tasting sessions and a Binocular & Telescope Demo – all at RSPB Arne!
We’ll be joined by BBC Springwatch wildlife presenter Jack Baddams, who will be leading walks to our tranquil lagoon both days, speaking about birds (of course!) and signing his brilliant book – Birdtopia – A Miscellany of British Birds.
Our conservation partners will be shining a spotlight on some of Dorset’s most inspiring conservation stories. Talking about their work, from the fantastic work of the Nightjar Study Group recording Nightjar success across the heaths, to Birds of Poole Harbour’s Osprey re-introduction programme, the vital role of Beavers as ecosystem engineers, the importance of creating new intertidal habitats for birdlife at Arne Moors, to rewilding Wild Woodbury and the fantastic work of the RSPB local group.
In addition, there will be local producers of art, jewellery, glass, metalwork and more in the café garden, plus the shop and café will be open all day – with bird and wildlife-friendly plants for sale and event menu items.
Talk and walk tickets give you to free entry to the reserve, so you can explore our trails through heathland and woodland, and experience stunning coastal views. Young people 16-24 years are free to enter the reserve (you just need a ticket for the walks and talks). And we even have a weekend discount ticket – so you can enjoy all our fascinating talks, the stalls and reserve entry both days!
Booking is essential for all guided walks and talks – please use the link.
Why not make a weekend of it?
